Revenue by Influence 

When the terminology “influencer” is used these days, the first conigtation is of a younger person on TicTok or a celebrity on YouTube or Instagram. True, those people such as Mr Beast,Joe Rogan, and Paul Jake have made millions of dollars as true influencers of our time, but what does that really mean for our security industry?

The same type of influence happens on a much smaller scale, yet has some of the same effects in our industry and there are only a handful of micro influencers that are active. Each of them have their own reasons for content creation, at this I don’t think any have monetized the influencer status into hard cash.

The idea of revenue by influencing in our industry is more of using the trusted relationship between those micro influencers and the people they reach to influence and bring them emerging technologies, what works, and what doesn’t work well. Being a sort of mouth piece for thier company and at them same time being that subject matter expert that people can depend on.

The Architecture, Consulting, and Engineering space is unique in that those companies don’t purchase any equipment yet influence millions of spend dollars per year with end users. The manufacturer teams that support these ACE clients are also set to influence, guide, demonstrate, and deliver specifications to integrate multiple systems together for both small and large jobs.

So when we talk about influencing there are whole bodies attempting to get out ahead of the bid process and be the defacto solution for the end user. Without these ACE teams the Architecture, Consulting, and Engineering companies would have to learn everything technical from each manufacturer, leaving them in a state of never being an expert on any one system or integration. Many of them have a multitude of disciplines that they must learn beside security. Audio video, networks, intercom, fire detection, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical and others. This is no easy task and the ACE teams are here to help and in turn generating revenue by influence.
